Superintendent Erich May joined other public school advocates for a press conference Thursday at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Dr. May highlighted the importance of state funding and the unique role that teachers play in the lives of our children. Dr. May concluded by comparing public schools to a chili pot: "In the chili pot, the parts retain their individuality, but together they make something better. America can still be a chili pot – we can find common ground and bring out the best in each other – but not without public schools. So it’s not just for the kids that we need to fund schools adequately; it’s for the future of our country."
