This is only temporary; this Rough patch of time in which A day feels like a thousand years with Nowhere to go, no one to see, and no hope...it seems. Still, there is hope. For when this is over, we will rise stronger. Our victims will have turned into fighters; Regions will come out more united. Many of us will see our loved ones again, And we’ll hug them just a little bit tighter, for just a little bit longer. Think of that day, when even the trees will be transformed In their dances of summertime leaves. Once, I felt helpless and lost, but Now I know that all growth comes at a cost.

Kindergarten Registration

We have been working to develop an online system for registering our 2020-21 Kindergarteners. We will be completing our registration process in phases. If you did not have a Kindergarten appointment scheduled in March and need to register your child, please call Michele Confer, School Counselor, at 814-952-9389. We look forward to beginning the registration process with you.

Phase I consists of a Google Survey for gathering information and sending an invitation to join our ClassDojo platform for our incoming Kindergarteners in order to keep you informed.

World Health Organization Tips

Follow these tips from the World Health Organization to keep yourself safe and help contain the spread of the virus.

Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your face, eyes, mouth, and nose.
Avoid contact with people who are vulnerable. And if you can’t, wear a mask.
Cover your cough with the bend of your elbow.
Disinfect surfaces you regularly use.
If you feel unwell, stay at home and call your healthcare provider.
Only share information from trusted sources.

Tentative Graduation Date

Our tentative graduation date for the Class of 2020 is Tuesday, June 2.

Human Services Resource

PA 2‑1‑1 Northwest is part of the national 2‑1‑1 Call Centers initiative that seeks to provide an easy-to-remember telephone number and web resource for finding health and human services. For more information, call 211 or visit pa211nw.org.

Mental Health Resource

The Center for Community Resources offers a 24/7 mental health and crisis support line for people dealing with anxiety or other difficult emotions. Callers are able to speak with staff who are trained in trauma-informed principles and can assess needs and refer callers to local supports and professionals. The Mental Health Support Line can be reached toll-free at 1-855-284-2494.

Children's Health Insurance

Pandemic EBT Benefits

The Wolf Administration received approval from the USDA for a plan to provide Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to students who are eligible to receive free or reduced priced meals at school through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. This program, known as Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), will be temporary. Eligible households that were approved for free or reduced priced meals prior to the close of school on March 16th do not need to do anything. Families who receive SNAP benefits will have the additional funds uploaded on their existing EBT cards. Parents previously approved by a 20/21 online application for school meals or by meeting medical assistance guidelines will be notified by mail by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services if they are eligible for these benefits. Included in the correspondence will be an EBT card. Households that have not applied for meal benefits prior to the closing of school can still apply by going to www.schoolcafe.com. If approved, you MAY be entitled to these benefits. The determination of benefits is made by the PA Department of Human Services and not Brookville Area School District.
