Hickory Grove Students Compete in Scrabble Tournament

Hickory Grove Elementary students in grades 3rd- 6th represented their district tremendously at the Scrabble Tournament held at the IU6 on September 25th.  The team returned home with excellent results!

The ambitious team of fourth graders including Andrew Bazylak, Mia Cieleski, Olivia Cieleski, and Brett McGee earned 3rd place in the third and fourth grade division.

Our determined fifth and sixth grade division brought home a 1st and 3rd place trophy.  The team of 6th graders Luke Burton, Sam Krug, Riley Phillips, and Aaron Turner placed 1st.  The 3rd place team consisted of sixth graders Leah Barnacastle, Sorren Morreli, Sergio Sotillo , and fourth grader Atticus Reynolds.

Furthermore, several students earned individual awards! Leah Barnacastle placed 2nd in overall High Points scored in the tournament.  Sixth graders Riley Phillips, Ethan Taylor, and Aaron Turner received awards for being undefeated throughout the entire tournament.

Congratulations to all the participants for their effort, focus, and good sportsmanship at the tournament. We are Raider Proud!
