North Central Broadband Survey
To Whom It May Concern,
The North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission has received funding that will provide us the opportunity to identify and work towards resolving Unserved and Underserved broadband areas in our six county area (Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter).
In what has become known as the ‘homework gap’, an estimated 18% of students do not have access to any broadband internet at home. An additional 20% of students fall into the underserved category where speeds are just too slow to function in today’s digital world. This puts two out of every five students potentially at an educational disadvantage.
With your help in completing the surveys through students, we can identifying specific issues in our communities and, together, improve commodities that can help rural America grow. I look forward to hearing from you to set up a time to further discuss what next steps we can take to optimize the survey success.
