Black bears eat all kinds of stuff, from fruits and nuts to carrion and garbage. Their appetite was the subject of a recent lesson in sixth grade science. Teacher John MacBeth ran a simulation in which students foraged for food – some as healthy bears, some as injured bears, some as mama bears!
